Stéphane Schmidt — creator of SwitchMyBar
A web developer based in Switzerland, I spent a good ten years of loyal service at the Gloriamundi Foundation before joining the alveo.design studio, where I build tailor-made websites for cultural, social and non-profit projects — complex forms, dynamic layouts, online shops, multilingual sites.
SwitchMyBar was born the way good tools are born: from one small everyday annoyance. That WordPress toolbar, always pinned to the top, always sitting on the design. I moved it for a client, then colored it, then tamed it — until it became a full plugin, translated into 26 languages, so everyone can put their bar where it belongs.
Endlessly curious about where technology is heading, I now build hand in hand with Claude Code, Anthropic’s coding agent — a playground that never sits still, which is exactly how I like it.
